Coles Diner - About Us
Coles Diner - It's your youth club make it what you want!
About Us:

The youth club was set up in October 2001 by me Kirilynn Gardner it was first a very basic place in the basement of Mansell House at Mary Hare for deaf children and young people. It was very dark but never miserable! We hosted lots of events and had many years of fun serving sweets from the tuck shop hatch and the occasional hot dog!

Then in 2007 after the help from the pta, parents and ex pupils who helped raise funds to turn it into what you see today a fantastic American Diner. It is fully equipped with a diner kitchen, bar, chill room and a restaurant area with fixed seating to form a perfect diner look.

The Youth Club was named Coles Diner after an ex-pupil Richard Cole who helped raise over £4000 and bought our red smeg fridge and huge cooker, sadly Richard Cole passed away but his memory remains with the honour of the youth club being named after him. Richard loved Mary Hare a school where he had many fond memories so a fitting tribute.
The Youth Club is still ever changing we have recently in 2010 decorated the outside area with a patio area, grafetti artwork. We have also managed to redorate the hall way with some more grafetti art and a new red, white and blue theme in keeping with the main diner.

The youth club is still entirely run by me and the students at the school, all the profit we make through the sales of food and through tickets to events goes straight back into the account. This is then used for the students wages, more events and prizes for members.

Our Youth club's motto is simple: It's your youth club make it what you want! The basis on the motto is that it is yours, yours to make it exactly what you want without you there would be no youth club!
